Under the eye of Martin Venezky, and importantly Eric Karnes and Mark Willie, Dan and I sought to create a photobook about how to create a photobook. These instructions are elusive and unhelpful at first, but it gave us the opportunity to look behind ourselves, seeing the process unfold naturally. To us, that meant an expedition, a game, a use of our week-long design sprint that wasn't hunched over a table. For our practice, we created a hide-and-seek game, collecting photographs and notes along the way that eventually pieced together to produce a photobook about our understanding of the process itself, and how documentation and joy can be a designers most important assets.
