This project is most importantly a project of love for my close friends, artists of their life's masterpiece. Letters to a Young Poet spoke to me because Rilke loves and is loved. For my book design, this idea served a greater purpose because it allowed me the opportunity to embrace the casual admiration I have for the people close to me in a world full of color, that people like them make seem much more colorful.

My process consisted of multiple drawn and scanned grids layered with photos taken on my handheld video camera in casual moments of company. At first, these photos were processed with no intention at all, and with the design philosophy of this project, I had faith their purpose would connect with more very casual combinations of photos meant to leave the reader seeing moments in-between and never staged.
